There are two temples at
Kalluru or Kallur is a mandal in
the Khammam district of Telangana. Not much information is available but these
are known to be very ancient temples with beautiful. Kalluru has a famous
temple of Lord Shiva known
as Srikashmira Mahadevakshetram, Anjaneya Swamy temple, Kanaka Durga temple,
Ganesh temple, Venugopalaswamy temple and Shirdi Said Baba temple. Both
Vijayawada Kanakadurga temple and Bhadrachalam temple 100 km from this
town.
We visited the
Venugopala Swamy Temple and the Shivalayam.
Architecture
How to reach:
By Road: The temples are
around 100 KMs from Vijaynagar and around 50 KMs from Khammam. Buses ply
between Khammam and Kalluru Bus stand (TSRTC New Bus Stand, Kalluru).
By Rail: Khammam is the
nearest Railway station around 50 KMs
By Air: Vijaywada is the
nearest airport around 114 KMs. Hyderabad airport is around 260 KMs.
Parking and Photography:
In both the temples,
there is ample space for parking.
Photography is allowed
and Drones can be easily used.
Timings:
Visit at normal day timings, the temples remain open.
Stay
Options:
Khammam is the nearest best stay option with lots of
hotels/residencies. Also Vijaywada is the nearest biggest city that can be
considered for stay too.
