Saripalli is just 16 km from Vizianagaram Town, in the Nellimarla mandal beside River Champavathi. Saripalli is famous for Dibbi Lingeswara Swami temple, constructed between the seventh and tenth centuries by Kalingas, featuring beautiful sculptures on the temple walls, and Ramalingeswara Swamy temple on a small hillock near adjacent to the village of Saripalli. Excavations need to be done yet by the ASI on the hill top. Many buddhist bricks were found all over the terrace. A temple dedicated to lord shiva is present on the hill top now under the Endowments department of Andhra Pradesh. the unique feature of the temple is that it is built entirely upon a huge rock. The temples can be dated back to anywhere between 1000 and 2000 years ago.
The route to the Dibbi Lingeshwara Temple
is slightly confusing with Saripalli on the other side of the river. We could
not visit the Ramalingeshwara Temple though, only visit Dibbi LIngeshwara
Temple.
Culture

Vizianagaram, also known as Vijayanagaram,
is a city and the headquarters of the Vizianagaram district in the Indian state

The history of the town dates back to 900 BC (Kalinga time) based on discovery
of copper coins. Vizianagaram Princely State was ruled by Pusapati Kings &
Gajapati Maharajas. Maharaja Vijayarama Gajapati Raju was a notable King.
Pusapatis are descendants of Lord Shri Rama. They are Suryavanshi Kshatriyas.
