The 2nd day of our 5 day Orissa trip (Phase 2) covered the beautiful serene drive from Baripada to Sitakund waterfalls (near Simplipal forest), Baldiha Dam (Baldiha) and a remote site-seeing place called Aathsiri near Kuchei.
The day was more of
exploration as the 3rd destination was supposed to be searching for
ancient stones in a place called Kuchei, but couldn’t find the place. Instead
we visited Aatsiri a serene site-seeing
place and worth visiting.
Parking and
Photography
Dedicated Parking is available at Sitakund. Parking not an
issue at Baldiha Dam. Car should be taken through the rough route inside forest
for around 200 meters for Aathsiri
Photography is allowed and Drones can be used from a distance
for all the locations and no restrictions.
Follow the routes below to cover the places while staying at
Baripada
Ideal time for visiting Sitakund should be monsoon, when
there will be ample amount of water. Remaining 2 locations can be visited any
time.
Route and
Stay
Baripada is the ideal location to stay. We stayed at Hotel
Durga very near to the Jagannath Temple and Jwalamukhi Temple.
