Baba Kakharua Baidyanath temple is situated in Manatri around 36 KMs from Baripada, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is also known as Kakharua Baidyanath. Previously the dwelling place of King Ramachandra Bhanja of Mayurbhanja, who lived here for a short period, the place is now a thickly populated place with remnants of many forts. During the holy month of Shravan, the kaudias come and pour water on the shiva lingam.

 

Mahashivaratri is the main festival observed in the temple, which attracts a large number of devotees. A big wall surrounds the temple which is known as “Kurum Bedha”. The temple is one of the best known pilgrimages of Mayurbhang district.

How to Reach:

By Road: Nearest bus stop is the manatri bus stop around 01 KM from the temple. The temple is around 21 KMs from Haripur Gada. The best way to reach the temple is having your own vehicle.

By Air: The nearest major airport is in Bhubaneswar (215 KMs)
By Train: The nearest major Railway station is Balaore (25 KMs)

 

Temple Timings:

The temple is open from 5:30 am in the morning till 8 pm in the evening Monday to Sunday
